Conflict of Interest
(Edu Society: Jurnal Pendidikan, Ilmu Sosial dan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat)
A conflict of interest occurs when financial, personal, institutional, or academic relationships have the potential to influence, or appear to influence, the work of an author, reviewer, or editor. Legalita Law Journal requires all parties to disclose such interests.
Authors
Authors must declare all sources of funding and any other interests that could potentially give rise to a conflict of interest in a statement at the end of the manuscript. If no such conflicts exist, authors may state: "The authors declare no conflict of interest."
Reviewers
Reviewers must decline an invitation to review if they are aware of the author's identity, have previously worked closely with the author, are in a competitive position relative to the author, or have any other interests that could influence their assessment.
Editors
Editors are not permitted to handle manuscripts that involve a conflict of interest for them personally. Manuscripts submitted by an editor or a member of the editorial board will be handled by a different editor, while still undergoing the standard double-blind peer review process; the author in question will not be involved in the decision-making process.
